Sunny day in Berlin-Kreuzberg, mid-September. Gibelin’s skilled guys, Valio and Tony, talk about the fruits of their labor and the new adventure “Kuker”. They have achieved a lot, but one thing remains: “We are still waiting for Popa (‘the priest’, TN), the singer of Oratnitza, to consecrate us.”
The 7 Deadly Sins of Live Streaming (Viewer’s edition)
In the past months, the internet has been the best club the world has ever known. Whether in the form of a proper, full-length concert, an evening with friends or a digital tour, life streaming has succeeded in satisfying the audience’s hunger for culture, at least to a degree. Yet, there’s a pattern of people stating that: “it isn’t the same”. And though the medium is undoubtedly part of the issue, it might be just a little bit our fault too.
“The 7 Deadly Sins of Live Streaming” is a two-part series about the things that ruin the digital concert experience. Bare in mind, we promoters are viewers too, and we are guilty of some of those transgressions ourselves. So don’t take it the wrong way. Rather come along for the ride and laugh with us.

Alex Naydenov of “Hashove” on common beginnings: “Dancing to Stefan Valdobrev’s music, welcoming the sunrise on the 17th floor.”
Alex Naydenov is a well known person within the Bulgarian community in Berlin. In 2012, being the co-founder of the organization “United Ideas for Bulgaria” and a fresh masters student in Berlin, his path met him with the dream of reviving the Bulgarian-German student association “Hashove”. This organisation is also what connects him to Gibelin. Here Alex opens up in an interview about long-lasting friendships and the necessity of challenges.
Georgi from Ostava on touring and the punk renaissance
Their music sounds like a sunset observed from a train travelling from Sofia to Berlin. It leaves traces like the bittersweet taste of “Chocolate”. Here, in the city of “hungry loving hearts”, they feel at home.
Founded in 1991, the band Ostava are to this day one of the biggest alternative rock bands in Bulgaria. They enjoy returning to Germany over and over again. Until now, four unforgettable music journeys have brought them here. Some of those they have experienced alongside Gibelin. We reached out to guitar player Georgi Georgiev remembering our common concerts, talking about creativity in times of quarantine, and looking forward to the creative surprises that the future will surely bring us.
Our playlist: Valentin on love and passion in the history of Gibelin
Valentin is the other half at the core of Gibelin. He usually shuns the spotlight and likes to capture the emotions of the events clearly in his memories from behind the scenes. In part two of the series “Our playlist”, where we introduce to you the agency team, Valentin takes us on a journey which begins in the late 1980s. This is Gibelin’s story of love, passion and more.
Our playlist: Dilyana from Gibelin on musical roots and memorable collaborations

Music and the underground scene have always been the heart and inspiration of Gibelin. In the first instalment of the series “Our Playlist”, co-founder Dilyana shares her memories and experiences related to ten of her favorite songs, linking past, present and future.
